That four letter word that begins with "s"

Yeah. SNOW. We got some last night. Even though our local weather page kept insisting we were going to get less than 0.04 inches, we got about 10 times that. We lucked out compared to areas to our south and to our north, because they got between 6 and 8 inches plus occasional white-out conditions. It's only October, people. We haven't even ( Read more... )

Pretty pics! We have snow, too, but ours looks more like someone disemboweled a beanbag chair. Uhg!

I am so sorry about your car!

Thanks! The car news came as a complete shock.

You know, if you have to have an early snow, the very least it can do for you is be pretty.

I can't believe you had bad weather and an alpaca didn't give birth in it. Or is Gertie waiting for an actual blizzard?

Now, now, now . . . let's not give Gertie any evil ideas :) The weather is going to warm up to around 11 (like that's warm), so I hope to hell she gets on with it before the snow comes to stay.

We lucked out as well with only about an inch or two of snow, while to the north and south of us there were accumulations of anywhere from 6 inches to two feet!

It kind of gives one that sinking feeling, doesn't it? I hope your days clear up all around, Mothie.

Whoa, snow! We were being taunted with a similar forecast ourselves, but we may avoid it. How are the alpacas dealing with it?

The alpacas actually like snow. The crias thought it was the greatest invention ever! Heh. They don't like cold rain, though, and we've had that, too, in the past few days.

Here's hoping that the storm misses you!

I told HMT back in May when it was time to re-register my car that she really wasn't up to it anymore, but he insisted. $400 for T.W.O. fuel injectors, and now an odd whine and I'm about ready to let the poor girl go.

Yeah, my Mazda is really ready to be put to rest, but we were hoping to get one more winter out of her. The guys at the garage were kind of surprised to see she was as beat up as she was since she "only has about a hundred thousand kilometers on her." I corrected that to 109,000 miles and their jaws dropped :)
