It sounds like it might be the belt that is distressing your dryer. Take a look...I think that is a relatively easy fix.

The belt, huh? I'll check it out, thanks! It certainly sounds like something mechanical - it makes a very loud grinding noise.

The winds are still cold, but the sun is out and shining warmly and that makes up for a lot :)
