January Thaw

We've had temps around 50F. 50! Most of the snow is gone, replaced by several inches of water over the grass. The pond has become a lake again, like it did last thaw and early spring. The alpacas are loving it and so are the humans. Q ended up spending an extra day with us (yay!) because the mist/fog was so thick we couldn't see the road in ( Read more... )

Goren went undercover in a prison psych ward. I love me my Bobby Goren, but that ep was just all over the place and off the wall to mix just two crazy metaphors.

I forgot that we're on a different CI schedule than the States. This must have been a couple months ago for you.

Sometime in December, I think. Or maybe it was November. It's all a blur.

(They're finally airing the episodes on NBC (starting with the season premier), and they're advertising them as "new" episodes. Asshats.)

Really? Thank you so much :) I want to get past the point and shoot method and really be able to control light and speed, so I'm looking around for some basic digital SLR books. Even though the Lumix isn't strictly speaking a digital SLR. More of a mongrel.

And I'll stop blathering now.

I hope you get one, too. And you know, with the money you'll be saving by quitting smoking, you'll be able to save up for one pretty quickly. Motivation!

I love writing, but I love taking pictures even more. I still have so much to learn about it, too. As the poet said, "Had we but world enough and time . . ."

My mom and I were out earlier running errands and there was this HUGE puddle in a parking lot. It was full of tiny little brown birds having an absolute ORGY of a bath. Water was spraying everywhere!

We laughed so hard. And then my mom found her digital camera, but a car drove by right before we got a pic and all the birdies flew away.

Anyways, that was the first time today I wished for a camera, and this was the second. One thing I miss is taking pictures of my cats. The only pics of Blink I have are from when he was little.

Maybe I will see if I can borrow my mom's camera? I think she would be fine with that. :-)
