I used to get all my friends to send me one whenever they went on trips. I can't say I have an absolute favourite. All the ones I picked up myself remind me of places I've been and all the ones sent by friends - and on occasion casual acquaintances - make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Heh, lovely postcards! We (the family) also put ours on the wall, but I had to put a naughty one I got from Praevarus on the inside of my closet door - kids are a bit young for naked redheads, I'd never get rid of them saying all the "naughty" words and that doesn't go down that well with teachers. :D Good luck with the date! My BF of 14 years is 5 years younger, but I think women in my country have a penchant for dating younger men - my neighbour, roughly the same age I am, is dating someone 23 years younger and I can't really think of a friend that has an older BF or husband.:) Fuck it, it matters how you two get along and I hope you do! Let us know how it went! :)
That's one of the of the downsides of the internet. People send less postcards. I love getting cards by the post and having a tangible object to remind me that my friends think of me even when we're not together.
The date went well. Despite me giving him an out to wrap it up early - I had an aikido class to go to and had brought my uniform and everything - he was into me enough to want to continue the night and set another date!
I saw the comment you left on the Multi-fandom friending meme a couple days ago, and see that we have quite a lot of fandoms in common, as well as other interests, and a birthdate (which I thought was cool)(different years, though).
I'm trying to build LJ back up into the interactive community I used to have here and start really posting again, so I'm looking for new friends to add. May I add you?
It's totally cool to friend me! I'll friend you back. I remember too when my flist on LJ was a lot more active... Too many have emigrated to tumblr and twitter. Or just had RL get in the way.
While I have never completely left LJ, I have also become a lot less active. Too much is going on in RL, and I have a lot less time for it. My posts have also become a lot more about my life and a lot less fanarty.
