Just popping by to say hello. I have been busy and stressed this week. I am back to applying for jobs like crazy and getting nothing but rejections. It's really hard, because after so many years, I feel like this is the rest of my life. Never catching a break. *sigh* I have uploaded cvs to the websites of all relevant job agencies. I even tried visiting several in person, their response - with varying levels of rudeness - was to show me the door and tell me that since I don't have at least two years relevant UK experience there is nothing they can do for me.

Thanks! My gran just came home and the disorganised mess the hospital has left us in is unbelievable! My aunt is going to put in a formal complaint.

Not much I can say except fingers crossed. Job hunting in the current climate just sucks, unfortunately -- it's not you, it's them! :)

You're doing a lot better than I would with your gran. I know it's going to be awkward, but try to get out as much as you can and give yourself a break.

Thanks. It's just impossible to get anyone to give me a break job-wise. My sister and her boyfriend say the exact same thing. The thing is there is this huge campaign not to hire foreigners. I believe we might have reached the point where employers will now prefer an english person over a more qualified for the position foreigner. Don't forget how many people voted for UKIP!

Job-hunting is a bitch and people are so rude as well. What amazes me is how many jobs I apply for and I just don't hear anything at all - it's so rude!

I hope everything goes well (or as well as it can when your gran comes home) x

I have sent out hundreds upon hundreds of applications and received only a couple of dozen replies maximum. Something like 2 out of 100 maybe. Odd thing is sometimes its the bigger practices that bother replying, or will send you a nicer reply.
