Notebooks and bookmarks

I'm busy making new notebooks for my shop. Some Doctor Who and some Sherlock inspired. I have stopped the Harry Potter stuff for now because it really doesn't sell. I think maybe it's because my style is more old-fashioned and simple and as such is something older people will appreciate more. And I guess older people are too embarrassed to go

When I buy bookmarks I tend to buy the metal kind though, because my kids tear up all my paper ones.

Wow, your kids must either be very young or very naughty! Lets add that to the list of reasons I wouldn't be a good mother and its for the best I don't have kids.

LOL. A bit of both, but really it is the older one (just turned five) who does it. She is autistic and therefore very destructive. Xavier (two), well he surprises me with a lot of things. He still isn't very destructive and he stopped putting things in his mouth long before he even turned two.

The one thing I've learned about kids (and this works with Tilde and Xavier) is act how you want them to act, because they will be copying you. They are little mirrors to all your bad habits. Like my husband often can't hear me when he is playing a game (which I hate), so now when Xavier is playing Minecraft he is just like his dad and can not be disturbed. The only thing that will get him away from the computer is the words "Go Outside?"

It is interesting how the different personalities of children will often show from a really young age and how different siblings can be.

I love your HP designs, and thought of ordering some, but the cost of shipping overseas was a bit of a stumbling block. Also, what I'm really looking for is something like Notebook covers. I go through a LOT of notebooks, so I buy the really, really cheap ones. But I'd love to have some sort of reusable notebook cover. 8.5x11 or slighter larger size.

Can you do something like that?

Hmm. I could, if it was out of card - I can sew for the fancy leather or fabric ones. Let me do some research and I'll get back to you.

So I have been thinking. The size you mention is actually rather big, A4 size. Thing is I make things mainly out of paper, because I don't sew.

Two ideas I had was a soft cover out of 300 gsm card and a harder cover out 1000mic board. What sort of design were you thinking of on the cover? By far the easiest for me are the stamped ones, but I do realise the lino-printed ones are more impressive.

I love bookmarks! I used to be crazy protective of them but then I just read the books to fast to need them!

I know what you mean. That's why I was asking. I use bookmarks, but I have never bought one, I always pick up freebies. But on the other hand, I see so many sold on etsy that I start wondering.
