Will the phone lines also be down? I know you said power is down but I know when my power is down, my land line phones still work.

I just have one more question: what would happen if a character tried to cut the wires/removes the bulbs on the big Christmas tree (to save power and presumably souls)?

They will be able to cut them but it won't change the power situation and they'll be replaced the next day.

Okay, we got the okay for heaters - what about power generators? Building something like that isn't out of Eggman's realm and I'm sure some people would get tired of wandering in the dark.

Answered above. The event itself will last through Christmas, but this is just one stage of it. More details in the next few days.

Will school be closed during the power outages? Or will the students still be expected to go like normal?
