I don't want to move b/c the changes honestly don't bother my much. I know they bother a lot of others so if we move, I will try to follow. But I have 6 characters I'd have to import, some I've been playing close to two years, and almost all of them have added icons or subscriptions or gifts that I couldn't afford to re-up over on DW.

Yeah, the money is the other big issue. I would have to seriously cut down my roster...

As much as I feel like the move would make the money I spent on one of my accounts kinda worthless, seeing as the icon packs are paid till 2013. The new changes have killed any will I have to even load up the site and try and do tags. The fact is my eyes are extremely sensitive to light, color and all that fun stuff and the new changes are causing me to get really bad headaches. Even with a custom layout it doesn't solve the problem completely for me.

Personally I rather move over to DW, seeing as it doesn't hurt my eyes and what not. If we do move having it as a comm based game would be for the best. It's getting harder and harder to keep an up-to date friends list due to the size of the game. Plus comm based games tend to fair better when it comes to a new rper who just joined. Meaning we could in theory attract more people thanks to the switch. Due to people preferring comm based over journals to some degree.

Anyway thats just my two cents on the issue and I hope everything works out for the most part.

Personal thoughts: I really, really would strongly prefer to move. I am fed up enough with LJ that it kind of makes me see red when I think of giving this website even another cent of my money. I love Mayfield and I will stay with it no matter what, but I won't lie- I briefly reconsidered that I might not be able to reconcile my utter disappointment with LJ with how much I love this game. The site is simply no longer usable to me. I don't want to play here any more at all, in any capacity. If I stayed, it would not be without a whole lot of hesitation.

I have a lot of Feelings on this matter! But aside from really wanting to move over to DW- I also think becoming a community-based game will really, really benefit us. I am slightly biased, as I am a mod and it will make administrative work easier for the entire team- but it'll also make everything easier on you guys, the players. We are simply too huge to handle being a journal-based game any longer. Using journals was fine when Mayfield first started out, and then we had an explosion ( ... )

I feel very strongly that we should move to DW for many reasons, and the usability concerns accompanying update 88 are just the tip of the proverbial iceberg, so to speak. LJ has consistently made it clear that it doesn't give one crap about us or our concerns in its drive towards microblogging a la Facebook or Twitter - which is fine for a site to do on its own, but it's not one I want to RP on. Their customer service is abysmal, and I would much rather support a small site like DW that has been friendly and welcoming and consistently awesome in its interactions with its users.

At any rate, I am done paying LJ any money, which means I would overwhelmingly prefer a game on DW.

Also, I think comm-based games are much easier to deal with when it's this size - when I had a new character, I always feel like I need to wait a week before I intro just so people can have me on their friends' lists. That's not a problem you have with comm-based games.

So yes, Mayfield. Let's gtfo out of here and become a comm-based DW game.

One thing that I would throw into the discussion would be that quite a lot of RPers seem to be moving, so not migrating might mean that it will get harder to get new members. Though it really is too early to say anything about that, I can definitely see it happen.

Personally:

As it is, LJ has impossible loading times for me if it loads at all, and the things that I cannot customize are giving me literal headaches (=read: trigger migraine). Thus, I will have to drop if nothing changes, aka unless the game moves or LJ rolls back the changes which they seem to have made abundantly clear they won't do.

I won't be angry with anyone if the game doesn't move, though I cannot deny that it would make me sad because I really love my cast and CR and such.
