Kaito, looking around the house for a deck of playing cards, heard the knock on the door. He grinned widely, and opened the door. Then looked down to where the--surprisingly tiny-- boy was standing.

"Hello?"

Okay, this was creepy. He looked so much like the idiotic magician, it wasn't even funny. Though if you put both of them side by side, there would obviously be a difference. A small one, but one nonetheless. It was quite odd that someone could look so much alike yet so different. And not to mention that his 'mother' opened the door.

"You're the other Kaito-niichan, right?" Conan said in his childish embarrassed tone.

Kaito grinned at the boy. "Yep! You must be Edogawa-kun! Nice to meet you face to face!"

Right now, no one would have been able to tell the difference between the robot and the original Kaito by voice or mannerisms. Even the way they carried themselves was identical. But there was something about him, maybe the blankness behind his eyes, that spoke of something alien and unreal.

Okay, maybe it would be wrong to say it to a copy of the real deal, but this Kaito was a lot nicer than the actual one. Even though Kaito did warn him not to go and visit him, he was Conan. And Conan just couldn't help but be suspicious. "Same here! I'm kind of glad to see someone else from my world!"

... this was absurd.

That... robot thing, the crazy homicidal piece of trash that was the source of Kaito's dislike for anything mechanical had somehow managed to find its way here. It was frustrating. No, it was more than frustrating for Kaito to know he had to deal with this monster more than once, especially in a town where people couldn't die.

A part of him felt bad for still holding such animosity toward this creation. But each and every time he started to feel guilty, he just had to think back to all the things the robot had done. He had tried to kill him, he had actually killed his creator... and who knew who else he might deem 'breakable' if he was left to wander around town free ( ... )
