Uwaah, wasn't that something like cheating to begin with? Shiki guessed that's what to be expected with people like Mion around. If you can get away with cheating, it must definitely be allowed. Shiki had his own ways to cheat but then again, running for long periods of time, especially in cold weather, was bad for his health so he would have to take it easy.

So Shiki took the best option he had. He took the path that kept the group of club members between him and the zombies. Then he'd just pick a place to hide and maybe even fall asleep. Winning a game like this was all in a day's work.

A voice rent the frigid air like a knife through Shiki's heart.

"Going somewhere, Shiki~?"

He halted in his tracks and slowly turned his head toward that horrible voice.

"Somewhere that's not here. I'm sure you understand but a guy has to win."

Mion stepped from behind a tree, both hands clutching snowballs. Her feet spread apart in a combat stance. "I understand, but it won't do you any good. You're about to become a part of my zombie army forever!"

One hand flung a snowball at him, the other raising in preparation for a counterattack. "Have at you!"

Well, Reisen wasn't there when the festivities were started, but...

The fact that Kaguya and Shiki were late coming home from school was worrisome... so have one moon rabbit who's part of the club but has no idea what's going on coming over to the school to check on things.

She'll be arriving about a half hour after class ends.

Go ahead and (try to) smack her with a snowball.

"Kupo?"

Mog, too, had no idea what was going on and arrived at the school grounds around the same time as Reisen. The only reason he had showed up at the school was because Mion and Keiichi were late coming home. And just 'cause they had started to date didn't mean that they were allowed to forget to feed him.

"Throwin' snow at each other, huh, kupo? You wanna play, too? Tag!" If only he could still dance the Snowman Jazz . . . Either way, Mog grinned widely as he threw a tiny snowball at Reisen's back.

Clearly, someone didn't know the rules.

"...?" Reisen turned her head to look at the moogle... and barely dodged to the side, the snowball narrowly missing her.

The fine art of 'grazing' that was practically mandatory knowledge in her home world would serve her well here.

"W-wait, I didn't say I was here to play!" the moon rabbit protested.

"Why not, kupo? We should all relax and have some fun now and then!" Mog wasn't even attempting to aim anymore as a hailstorm of powdery snow and ice flew through the air. For being so small, he had a good arm. Practice from skewering monsters, no doubt.

Shiraasan had come more or less out of sheer boredom. A game like this would give her something to do after school for once, and this way she could avoid seeing her droned brother. Though she didn't really know much about the punishments, she was confident enough that she could survive an amateur throwing snow at her.

Speaking of snow, once Mion came out with the army of drone kids, she immediately bent down and began gathering snow in her tiny hands with as much speed as she could muster. With her usual blank face, she formed a snowball and threw it at a drone near Mion with enough force to knock the poor child down - not that she really cared. Drone, after all.

The drone next to Mion went down with a stumble, and for a moment the girl's eyes widened with surprise. The moment passed and she was on the offensive, launching a flurry of snowballs Shirasaan's way as she dived behind a tree.

Shiraasan was up to that. She began to run, surprisingly fast for her small size. Not even bothering with snowballs anymore, she quickly formed two handguns and began firing at the snowballs, aiming to destroy them before she was hit. Nothing said you couldn't use weapons, after all.

Once she reached a large enough rock to take cover behind, she allowed the guns to vanish as she dove behind it. Working quickly, she began to stockpile snowballs now that she had a brief respite...

"Wh-Who the heck brings guns to a snowball fight!?" Mion wailed, diving for cover. Her plan to utilize the drones by quickly establishing the rules before anyone could protest was backfiring on her.

"Grrr..." She wasn't done yet! Two drone girls passed by, and Mion grabbed their sleeves and pointed them in Shirasaan's direction. "Go get her!"

Giggling girlishly, the two girls moved to intercept the homunculus, snowballs launching.

Poor Metis had wanted to just leave back to her home and perhaps practise more fighting with her Cross Rod, but it seemed like she was taken to the game without her consent. Snowballs where flying from here and there, and Metis even had some trouble dodging. What she had to go trough, really.

Annoyed, she herself took snow from the ground. As she had no experience of making snowballs, it came out as no master piece. Throwing too wasn't exactly her kind of fighting, as she was more experienced using heavy hammers and such. She threw snowballs here and there, with poor results. It would take few moments until she would find the way to actually hit her target.

Mion basked in the glory of her zombie army, laughing smugly as the drones chased down the other players. "Bwahahahahaha! Get them, my servants! Get that guy! And that girl!" Her finger fell on the unfortunate Metis. "And her, get her too!"

"H-Huh?" Metis had had enough trouble without actually being targeted. She cursed under her breath and made as quickly as she could few snowballs to throw. Still not master in the art, she only managed to hit few of the drone children attacking her, and that wasn't enough.

She was hit, few times. Forgetting the point of the game she just got angry and threw few snowballs back at those brats.

Hanyuu was one of the first to show, but Mion wasn't there. When she did show up, poor Hanyuu was already shivering in the door way.

But there was no time for that now, the game is starting. She got up and joined everyone else. She scooped up her first snowball and threw it.

Three snowballs whizzed past Hanyuu's head like bullets. Mion grinned maniacally, idly tossing a snowball up and down in one hand.

With the other, she pointed at Hanyuu.

And then pointed back at her own eyes.

It was on.

Hanyuu had regained her ability to create time rifts. If she wanted to, she could send any snowball that came flying at her back at the sender. She wondered if she should use that power now. It only took her a second to decide. This was supposed to be a fair game, she would play like anyone else here.

She slowly nodded. She quickly scooped up some snow, packed it into a ball, and threw it at Mion.

Mion sidestepped the snowball, giggling. This was too easy. She'd crush Hanyuu without even trying!

But... The girl was so cute...

No! She had to be strong. Her honor as president was on the line! Mion sent two snowballs flying back at Hanyuu at top speed.
