Howl headed through the streets with an unusually sharp, brisk pace, all business. In spite of the rarity of this attitude, he'd still managed at some point to dress properly, and the air around him smelled lightly of gardenia. (One must keep up one's front even in crisis and all of that.) Still, dressed in the dark, 50s-style clothing that he'd not yet managed to get rid of, his white-blond hair flaming against it, he made for a rather ominous figure looming up towards the Nelson Street porch. He knocked twice, sharply, and stood on the doorstep, blowing warmth into his gloved hands as he glanced down the rest of the street.

Fairly quiet. For now.

It wasn't like England was standing by the door and watching out the window for intruders because that would make it sound like he was paranoid and that was just silly. Ridiculous. Absurd! Absolutely so. (Oh, if only Shakespeare was here, he'd have a good phrase for the absolute depravity of the stupidity of the situation.) But he just so happened to be standing by the door and watching for intruders, and he lingered an extra moment just so Howl could endure the bitter cold for a bit longer (always so dramatic, with the hair and the--magic, and the hair!) before he opened the door.

Then, without another word, he slipped away to the living room and shut off the television. Yes, that was the way to do things. Nice. Proper. Neat.

Sophie looked rather surprised when England turned off the television. She had expected him to keep it on, what with all the 'news' coming in.

"Is something the matter?" she asked, looking up at him curiously. "Did you answer the door?

Tiffany was going to the door when she saw England leave it open. She nodded at the person at the door before peeking her head into the living room.

"Sophie. Howl is here"
