Who: Edward Elric, Road Camelot
What: Ed is out wandering, lost in thought when Road (in?) conveniently distracts him by dragging him candy shopping with her.
Where: Around the shops?
When: Sunday, October 17th. Afternoon-ish.
Warnings: Creepy Loli wants her candy?

( How did Ed always get himself into these situations, and what is it with girls and shopping?! )

Road skipped across the street, dodging a car that honked in disgust at the 'dang kid'. Hurling herself around a corner in the direction of the candy shop she ended up colliding directly into a certain lost in thought, way-too-deep-in-his-brooding-over-everything blond ( ... )

Edward gave a start as he felt something sold bump into him. Something suspiciously solid and alive. Clearly, he'd been way too out-of-it to pay any attention to his surroundings. Again. Road looked up at the boy, noting his features; blond and interesting eyes. His mannerisms were friendly enough, if a little distracted. The voice caught her attention, that was familiar alright. But he looked just a little out of it, sort of in his own world, even while dealing with her. She spent about a split second thinking about that, and wondering what was eating him, before clasping her hands behind her back and rocking on her heels, beaming at the young man.

"No that was my fault." She sounded genuine enough. "I'm really sorry about that. Are you okay? I'm fine!" She bounced a little on the balls of her feet to prove that, indeed, she was perfectly fine. She was almost perfectly drone-cheerful, up until her next question.

"Hey, this is kind of odd, but we've talked before, haven't we?" She tilted her head. The telephones were poor quality, so she couldn't be absolutely sure, but she had such a strong inkling. If she could just picture that voice sounding grumpy or disgruntled or peeved, and with poor sound quality...

Ed waved his hand again, more vigorously. "I'm fine! I was just....thinking. Needed a walk." he reassured the girl.

She was suspiciously cheerful, and for a second he wondered if she was a drone, but then realized that couldn't be the case, as he started to register the familiarity of the voice. It sounded like....

"...Road?" he asked, eyes widening a little as he blinked at her. Well. This was unexpected. Though he did recall her pestering him about being bored, and she had mentioned wanting candy or something. Not that he'd been anticipating bumping into her like this.

So she was right. And what a wonderful turn of events. She'd wanted to meet him, and now that Road looked closer, it was almost eerie how Ed kind of resembled Allen physically. Not too much, but a little bit. She wasn't sure what to think of that, so she'd set it aside to think about later. Besides, his expression was kind of priceless.

"Yep! Edward, right?" Road reached out a hand to tug on his sleeve. "It must be good luck that I ran in to you! &hearts Would you come with me to go shopping? You were taking a walk anyway, right? You could tell me what you were thinking." She considered his distant expression. "Or we could just have fun, like friends should!" She offered the alternative under the suspicion he hadn't been thinking about anything too positive. Considering the turn their conversations usually took, and events in Mayfield in general, she couldn't blame him, he had a lot on his plate.

"Please? I'd really like to." She didn't try any of the overly charming guile or the cute looks, she just let it be genuine. She did want ( ... )
