[Someone else has the same idea. She's gotten sick of the diner in Mayfield, so maybe this place has something different.]

Have you seen any menus? I'm hoping to get something good for dessert.

[The waitress will come back shortly, carrying two pies. She sets the rhubarb down for Taiwan and the apple down for Natsumi, but aside from the ice cream, they don't seem to be very different. Both are dry and filled with some sort of generic canned fruit filling, and neither tastes very good.]

Eat up, girls! A little extra body fat will do you two some good.

[Inside the apple pie filling, a note can be found.]

[Except Natsumi is staring intently at something she found in her pie. Wordlessly, she passes Taiwan the note. Her voice is hushed.]

I thought it was strange that a road would just suddenly open up.

[ Taiwan stops herself just in time from gasping and exclaiming something she'd regret. She had been looking for something out of the ordinary, but nothing like this. Her voice is just as quiet as she picks the note up to examine it up close. ]

... We have to tell the Doctor.
