(Well, Engie just got here when he heard about the Homecoming Dance. Curious to see how it would be done in this town and because he missed his own, you have a 37-year old man dressed in simple clothes just watching the crowd and smiling at how much fun the kids are having.)

(Engie smiles and shakes his head.)
No one ever trusts them Spahs. Not even when we were back at base. But I'm glad there's a truce going on...don't need anymore problems on top of the ones we already have. We can always get back to blowin' each other up when we get home.

[ She gives a small sigh of relief. ]

Everyone seemed to be all right at BLU Scout's birthday party, even after somebody spiked the water in the taps.

Huh. Well that's good to hear. I'd be real disappointed if they messed up the boy's birthday. A line's gotta be drawn somewhere, after all...

...was it Py who did that? Always up to mischief, that one. Least we didn't have a battle the next day; last time that happened the whole buncha us were so drunk we couldn't even get up for battle the next day, save for Solly. In the end he went around waking us all up. Still got steam-rolled by the BLUs though.

(He says this good naturedly and ends it with a laugh. The Pyro has always been one for tricks and pranks, so he's not surprised about this at all.)

[ She smiles a little confusedly, as it doesn't really sound like the Pyro she knows. ]

Pyro? He or she? It doesn't sound like BLU Pyro, though.

Oh yeah, there's two of'em around, right? Forgot 'bout that, my mistake.

I'm was talkin' about the RED Pyro. She's a fiery and tough one. I know the BLU Spah is paranoid of her, and he has every right to be. Though if you get on her good side, she makes a good friend. Especially cause she makes sure that Spah stays away from mah sentries. Sentries are the machines I build for the team.

Ah, yes... she is a handful.

[ She smiles and shakes her head. ]

The BLU Pyro was assigned to the husband slot in my house.

That explains a lot about how you knew so much of us then. How's the man been? Must be tough on both the Pyros; I know they both don't fancy the civilian life much.

Hmm, I think it's worse that we have the rapid shifts from civilian to militia actions throughout the year. No chance to settle into either mindset, really.

There's a lotta of that sorta stuff?

(Engie's mind starts whirling. He's going to need to get his hands on a giant pile of scrap metal, ASAP.)

[ She's off to the refreshment table, and back in a moment with an old pamphlet and a map of the town ]

[ Yes, she carries copies of these things everywhere, just in case. ]

[ She points to a few spots on the map. ]

Here's the church, best alternative to get treatment if you can't find one of us who're aware at the hospital, and this is the spot where there's a forge. It's in Quinn's backyard, [ She points out the DJ, ] but Hiccup is the blacksmith [ Ilsa indicates the young man on the side of the dance floor ] and there's scads of scientists about town.

I met young Hiccup already. Quiet lil fella, but I've seen his hands. Can't wait to see his blacksmith, I'm sure the kid can whip up some amazin' things!

(Engie is quite excited at the mention of other scientists.)

Really? Would it be alright for me ta ask ya about'em? I'd love to meet all of them!

[ She chuckles, ] Most of the ones I know haven't shown up yet, that I've seen. I know Dr Spengler prefers the workshop to social gatherings, and a few of the others seem to be absent tonight as well.

[ She frowns breifly, then smiles again. ]

Dr Spengler huh? What sort of machines does he build? Could ya pass me their names?

(He wants to meet ALL the scientist. A few years with men who only like to blow things up have left him severely deprived of the company of other men of science.)
