Beside the pool yard is the picnic area. There are several picnic tables with sunshade umbrellas providing needed relief from that sun. A few serving tables are laid out along the edge of the area with red and white checkered table cloth. On top are the standard party food favorites! Next to the tables are several big coolers filled with ice and refreshing, non-alcoholic beverages. Sorry, no alcohol here, unless you brought your own, of course. Did you bring something to share? Just set it on the table, or put it in the cooler!

[Quinn is poking through the cooler and looks a bit disappointed at the lack of booze. Oh well, there's a lot of kids here, he guesses. But if you come by, he'll hand you a soda. Say hi?]

[Booster peers into the corner then looks at Quinn]

"Brought some beer, probably be a bad idea to put it in there, huh?"

Yeah, probably. Last thing we need is kids who don't know what they're doin' gettin' drunk near a pool, right?

[Quinn starts looking around for a hiding place.]

NIGHT TIME

So the sun is setting and the relief from the heat is certainly welcome. However the party doesn't end just because it's night! Nearly everything that was floating during the day has been cleared away, and in its place are several lit candles, floating on small, colorful flower-shaped rafts and fake lily pads. The lights underwater come on and give the pool an enchanting glow, providing much ambient light into the evening. The tiki torch lights flicker along the perimeter and there are large candles on many of the tables between the chairs. All in all, a great way to to phase into the evening.

[Barton arrived fashionably late to the party. No swimsuit for her, just shorts and a somewhat familiar t-shirt to some people. She's sitting on the shallow end alone, legs dipped in the water. Her face is unreadable as always as she looks out over the pool. Care to pester her?]

[Zuko slips into the pool next to her, staring at the water.] Hey. You're... Barton, right?

ELSEWHERE

The recreation center is closed! Mostly. The hallways are open to most places in the rec center, but you'll find the doors to several places are locked and sealed tightly. Wander around if you'd like, but you're just tracking water into the place with your damp clothes. It's refreshingly chilly with the air conditioning on full blast! Thank goodness that these things were around then!

DIVING CONTEST

[There's a few small chalkboards and chalk off the the side and Gilgamesh is standing on the edge of the biggest diving board.]

Come one and come all! If you think you can defeat the King of Heroes at diving, do try your hand! I'll reward anyone who can score higher than myself.

But don't expect much since I'm perfect.

[In this thread, people dive and random people give them a point score with the chalk board GOGO.]
