[A shadow stirs in the darkness beneath the bleachers and eventually inches its way toward the opening. Dressed in a suit with a white jacket, Slugger peers out at the dance floor before edging his way along the wall.]

[There is suddenly a girl next to you. Boo. You know the best part of being the Hell Girl and having no mother figure to drag you dress shopping? It means you can just wear a work outfit and be done with it.]

[strike_you_out]

[Slugger doesn't see her at first and is mildly startled when he nearly bumps into her. But once he recovers, he's relieved to see her here. Now he has company in which to be awkward.

His gaze falls on her kimono, recognizing it from one of the two times she'd brought him along to Hell. He wishes he were in his "work clothes", too. You can bet he needed quite a bit of "motherly" coercion to put on what he's wearing now.]

[This one is slightly different, less flowers and more fans and things. Either way it's one of the 'I think the patterns moving' models that she wears.]

Hello.

[strike_you_out]

[He'll stare at the patterns a little longer, trying to decide if they really are moving or if it's just his imagination at play. Finally, his gaze climbs up to meet her eyes.]

Do you know what we're supposed to do?

[How does I prom.]

[She looks back at him.]

Aaron said there was dancing?

[How does I dance?]

[Dance? He turns to watch other prom goers doing just that out on the floor, then looks back at Ai.]

...It looks dangerous.

[This coming from the guy who beats people, sometimes to death, with a baseball bat. Perhaps they should start with something smaller. Like drink punch and stare at other people.]

Wanna get something to drink?

People keep pouring things into it.

[Watching things all night pays off.]

[He missed this, probably due to hiding under the bleachers.]

Gross.

[She nods.]

Threading in!

Out of nowhere, a wild Aaron appears. Really he's just buying himself some time while his date gets herself a drink. He spots the two, after probably searching for Ai, and comes over.

"Hey! Glad to see you both made it. Why are you hiding over here and not dancing?"

[strike_you_out]

[At the sound of the voice, Slugger peers curiously at Aaron. He remembers this guy from the bowling alley---the one with Ai's symbol drawn on his cast. As for an answer to the question, he just looks down and away with an uncomfortable shrug. This could imply either or both of two things:

a) He's never done it before and
b) ...Those people over there look really dumb.]

[Ai glances over at Aaron and nods.]

They look strange.

[Also she doesn't dance.]

"Everyone who dances looks strange. You two should just go out there, hold hands and have fun."

Why?

[Not trying to sound like a jerk on purpose; this is just something he has failed to understand from the very beginning.]

[Ai doesn't get it either. Looking at Aaron waiting for him to explain it.]
