That just made me ache for what Sam and Dean and little Castiel had. Absolutely lovely. And the benediction at the end... exactly what Sam needed. I totally teared up, but it ended beautifully. Thank you, I love this verse.

Aw, I'm glad the story affected you so. Yes, I want Sam to have this kind of blessing and peace. Thank you!

Absolutely Gorgeous. This right here:

And then he laid a gentle kiss on Sam's forehead.

A benediction and a blessing. A simple gesture of divine love, bright and shining. It felt like an invisible brand, burning without pain.

I love that is was the kiss of a parent to a child. Because that's what Sam was for Wee!Cas; a parent. Where Dean was like (imagine that) an older brother. So for Cas to be able to give that back to Sam was lovely.

Ooh, very cool insight. You're right, on all counts--Sam was very much a parent while Dean was more like a big brother. And Castiel's relationship with the Winchesters now is very parental, leading and guiding, protecting when he can. Sam and Dean both need that, sometimes. Thank you!

Aww, that was lovely!

More likely he had no idea, wasn't even cognizant of the light he left in his footsteps, ignornant of his own brilliance because he knew nothing else. Was it truly possible that he could see light shining between the Winchester brothers and forget that he had his own?

This bit? Amazing. Beautiful. Loved it.

So glad you liked it! I love characters who are quietly kind and compassionate, not flashy and extreme. Castiel definitely does that for me. ♥

That was perfect. Absolutely perfect. Because Dean needed Castiel, to see him again, but dammit, Sam did too. And oh. That was it. That was perfect. Thank you for sharing sweetpea.

*happy sigh*

Oh, yes, Sam definitely needed this closure. ♥ I really loved being able to give him that, and I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Thank you!
