The fact is that Jack is absolutely right. Metallica has a lot of operatic elements. Poor Dean. But seriously, has he never listened to "Enter Sandman?"

Dean lives in his own little world, in which heavy metal is awesome and classical music is for dweebs. But studies have shown that actually a lot of heavy metal fans like classical stuff. Wagner and Metallica? Not different at all. :D

Nice chapter. I loved Jack messing with Dean's head about the opera/Metallica connection. It sort of reminded me of this article about the different types of music and personality. Interestingly enough, the article mentions that classical/opera lovers share many traits with heavy metal types.

Hee, yeah, I read that article, too. And with it canonically established that Jack likes opera and Dean likes heavy metal, OF COURSE it had to come up in the fic. It's yet another similarity between them, even if Dean is sort of terrified at the thought. :D

Heh. Love Jack going on about Metallica. He'd like the S&M album, I think. And it's pretty philosophical too (there's a whole book about it!). The library scene was cool too, I love Jack annoying him, almost like Dean does with Sam.

Glad you enjoyed the JacknDean tomfoolery. I figured that people would be expecting Jack to be annoyed by the music, so it was fun to have Jack annoying Dean instead. And yeah, it's totally what Dean does to Sam in the show. Apparently he learned from the best. :D
