Why oh why am I writing a silly fic about Sam Winchester? Argh! I've been trying to work on my WIPs! Yet here this is instead. Oh sigh. Fickle, fickle muse, you will drive me mad before the end

That Sam and John fight about the purity of one branch of Latin or another -- there's something about that that just mmph, thumps me right here. Which is a ridiculous comment to leave, even if you could see the accompanying gesticulations, but: I really liked this. Oh Sam. Latin is his skin mags, I love it. Thanks for posting!
Thanks. :) I'm really glad that the story worked for you. I consider myself to be more of a Dean fan, really, but I think I understand Sam more. It's like I'm inside his head whether I want to be or not.
Thanks! :D It all comes back around for Sam, I think. I started writing the story with that image in mind--Sam tries to run, but in the end he finds he's running back toward his family again.
That was such a good story! I love character studies; i feel like its necessary to fully appreciate the people that have been created. I can totally imagine Bobby's gesture of kindness without any form of words of gestures hahaha. That's so cool. And! I love that Sam's love for latin, although taking him away from the world he wanted nothing to do with, ended up being his tool in that world.
I'm glad you liked it. :D Bobby's character has really grown on me quickly, and he seems like the kind of person to notice things other people don't, and silently encourage the kids he cares about. And I just loved it when Sam started belting out that exorcism by memory in Jus in Bello. He's so stinkin' smart. :)
Bobby is definitely somebody who can read beyond what is said and the show would really be missing something if his character didn't exist. He's so necessary to the boys; they need somebody to act like family.
And the exorcism =| My god. Latin!Sam is a personal favourite ;) He could recite it to me anytime. Hahaha.
Oh, thank you so much! :D I'm glad you liked the story. And yeah, I've been a Deangirl since I saw the S1 finale, but I also love Sam, and I can get in his head pretty easily. We have a lot in common, Sam and I.
And yeah, I kinda want to brush up on my Latin, too. :)
So I saw this in your End of the Year post, and I thought it was familiar. So I clicked on it, and I realized I had read this when I was a lurker and thus failed to comment.
This is long overdue, but I really liked this story. I especially liked how he devours the stories. It reminds me of when I was little, except I was more into the Greek tales.
Aw, thanks so much for commenting! I'm glad you liked it.
Yes, Sam and I have that in common, too, the devouring-books thing. I read everything I could get my hands when I was younger. And yes, I preferred the Greek stories, too. :D Loved the battle of Thermopylae long, long before it was a bloody beautiful movie.

Aw, Bobby. *snuggles him*
Lovely, lovely story. I especially loved the kind of surprise at the end, when you realize he's using the Latin to find Dean. Brilliant.
