Part 1 is here.Caveat lector: I am pro-pretty-much-everybody. Yes, even him. Especially him. I'm biased toward Dean, though, there's no point trying to deny it

(I'll kind of floof over the part where he says that the Bible I believe in gets more wrong than it does right. I've already had to resign myself to the fact that the Supernatural God is not the God I know and love, so this is just another disappointment to add to the pile. I wish Kripke wouldn't throw it in my face, though. I know, I know, it's just a TV show drawing from Christian myth, not a statement of theology. It still saddens me if I think about it. Anyway.)

Haha, I had a whole freakout waaaaaayyy back in 4.10 when Anna goes on about how only four angels have seen God, and the whole grace-tree thing and...blaaahhhh. That was when I first had to accept that THIS ISN'T THE REAL WORLD. Which made me so, so, so sad, I can't even tell you. :( I love my God and I'm so sad that Dean and Sam won't ever have the same one.
Hey, this is probably the only meta on the Sam and Castiel scene that makes Castiel not seem like a jerk to me, so you are AWESOME. I really like Castiel and I want to keep on liking him.
Yay, I'm so glad my thoughts made sense to you! It didn't bother me at all, but it took me awhile to figure out why, and the results of that cogitation are here.
I agree with you about Dean's face when he's pinned against the wall. I didn't notice Dean's care in carrying the Castiel figurine until you pointed it out. Awww!
Heh, it was tracy_loo_who who first pointed out Dean's little cupped palm in her picspam right after the ep aired. :D I probably should have credited her.
I might have noticed it anyway as I was going through and making caps. You notice things a lot more when you slow down like that.

I'm holding onto this Castiel-like hope that they're going somewhere with this, that SPN's God will be a positive surprise.
I wish Kripke wouldn't throw it in my face, though.
Sometimes it does feel a little mean spirited but they usually show another side to the argument, which makes it better than a lot of shows in teh same genre that try to deal with faith.

I think SPN deals with it about as well as a TV show can without smaltzy and dogmatic. It still makes me nervous.
