It's winter. I know this because the bird bath was a sheet of ice.

Fascinating thing about Canadian meat chickens on Quirks and Quarks today. (No, they don't get growth hormones or antibiotics - it's selective breeding.) I like very much that the interviewee, Dr. Martin ( Read more... )

I haven't seen Interstallar. I STILL haven't seen Snowpiercer. Or the 2nd Hobbit movie.

I've heard good things from Leonard Maltin and my friend VicTORia about Big Hero 6...

Well, you can't expect the Department of Poultry Systems to run with just one Associate Professor, can you?

You know how I know it's winter? Daytime temps below 80 for at least a week straight. I'm still waiting.

Apparently not. Poultry Systems sounds so wonderfully sinister!

I weep for you. Weep, I say!

We took Kyle to see Big Hero 6 and we all really liked it. The animation is just gorgeous and the story was very good. Typical Disney, though, in Hero's parents are dead. Parents fare really badly in Disney films, especially moms. Very interesting take on the future--technology has greatly advanced, but people and their motivations are very recognizable.

Oh, wow. When I think about it, Anne Hathaway *does* look sort of lemur like.

I have nothing useful to say about meat or movies.

She does! And what an unkind thing for me to say, but it's true. I find the ring-tailedness of her distracting. "What is that lemur doing working on a fashion mag/being in a bad Get Smart remake/pretending to be a princess? Lemurs don't do that shit!" They also do not travel between stars.
