It's late in the evening when Duo comes back home. He's spent a long day half in the infirmary and half in debriefing. Then Milliways, and finding out a little bit about what's happened while he was gone.
Heero hasn't been around in the bar a lot lately. But it's probably too much to hope for that Duo's future self was lying and Heero doesn't know anything except that Duo was late coming back from his mission. (And that he's alive, anyway. HQ would have told him that much, at least.)
Duo fumbles with his keys and crutches at the front door. It's been a while since he had to maneuver around like this.
