here's my research paper. I'd really, really appreciate constructive criticism, as it's due tomorrow and I'm still worried (doesn't help that I've gone 700 words over the limit. I really can't stay within the word count limit, can I?) that it isn't good enough.

I know it's too late for a critique, but the only thing I'd make a side note to is that not all women are equal in terms of virginity- a black girl's virginity is not the same as a white girl's so much of this wouldn't apply to her in the same way. It would have been interesting to point out that because women of color aren't put on the virginity pedestal, rape culture has a different effect on how men and society treats them and how they view their bodies. Like I said, great paper and I'm glad you pissed off some of your classmates with it haha

I wanted to write a section concerning women of color (and I wanted to expand on that tiny bit about male/male rape) but I was losing points the longer my paper went. I think maybe I'll add that in later and edit the post, since now it's just a paper on my lj and not for a grade anymore.

I think it´s a great essay, sharp, informative and to the point.
What especially struck me was the argument over confusing sex with rape. Here in Germany there´s currently a process going on concerning a famous TV weatherman and his (alleged) rape of (one of his many) girlfriend(s).
It has just started and has already reached a point where I can´t stand to even look at newspaper headlines, let alone the TV or german internet news sides.
The victim blaming is UNBELIEVABLE. Comments range from "But he´s such a nice guy (on TV), he could never be a rapist" to "The stupid bitch just wants his money, just put her into prison." Oh and of course "I want him back on my TV, the weather´s been bad ever since he had to leave, poor guy."
Anyways...just wanted to butt in and say that it´s a great essay =)
