We have a new chef at our hospice house. She seems nice enough. Interestingly, she hasn't yet come to realize I have no power or authority, so she keeps bringing her new issues to me, as if I can fix them. I could fix most of them but the director doesn't trust me to make decisions, so I keep having to refer her to our mutual boss.

How much do leeks cost that 6 are considered an extravagance? I ask only because leeks grow wild in our back yard every year and I want to know if I'm unwittingly sitting atop an agricultural goldmine.
