I've played Pleasanview so many times, started over and taken the whole hood several generations into the future etc. It's basically Pleasantville for me - neat on the surface, a bit twisted deep down. This is also a hood I've played together with my sister, so it's full of fond memories. :)

Don Lothario has always been a good candidate for some decent torture. In my game he fathered around twenty kids with various women because I just couldn't get enough of his breakdowns. He walked around with a constant fear of having another baby and they just kept coming. Good times. He married Cassandra (causing another breakdown) and had seven or eight daughters with her, then moved on to a college girl in his old age, which resulted in four sons. They all looked like Don.

But I found the storylines a bit boring and usually focused on the Goths and the Calientes.

Yay, Pleasantview discussion! It's one of my favorite neighbourhoods, I really like Pleasantview. I don't think I'm playing the storyline, Cassandra Goth never marries with Don Lothario or Darren Dreamer and Dina Caliente is a nice girl who's just waiting for her dream man and she breaks up with Mortimer ( ... )

It's been such a long time since I've played Pleasantview but I have to say that when I think of this hood, the firt thing to come to mind is "The Goths". I don't know why but I've always had an attachment to that family.

Generally, I try to incorporate what is there already, storywise. Once I wrote a story surrounding Bella's disappearance and another time, I used the wedding arch to marry Cassandra and Don only to have Don run out on her and ended up making a truly horrifying consequence for Don leaving Cassie at the altar.

As far as the houses are concerned, if I'm motivated enough, I will rebuild and redecorate. I do love to make a mess of the Pleasant family though forcing the wife (I can't remember her name) to walk in on Daniel getting it on with the maid. Marriage conflict ensues. I also love the rivalry between the two Pleasant sisters, usually making Lilith steal Angela's boyfriends.

Ah, such high jinx to be had in that hood.

Yay, Pleasantview!

My very first experience playing Pleasantview started with the thought of, "Yay, the Goths!" Then I read Don't bio. "Ooh, I can't wait to kill him off" was my first thought. Folks, I NEVER even thought of killing any Sim in Sims 1. That's when I knew that this game would be vastly different (either that, or I was turning psycho, lol).

My all-time fave Pleasantview sim is Lilith Pleasant. I felt bad for her from the get-go and try to give her the best life and love interest possible (and sometimes torture her parents for being mean to her, lol). I also enjoy Cassandra and Brandi.

The very first time I played Pleasantview, I followed script. Everyone did everything they were "supposed" to (Cass married Darren, Angela married Dustin, etc.). When I reloaded, I forced myself to play against script intentionally to see what would happen. A whole new world of possibilites opened, and now I play against script after every reload (though it helps to have a merged 'hood for even more possibilities).
