Dare #034: Fashion Emergency. (mostly) Downtownie edition.

During this month's challenge will be giving new makeovers to (Mostly) downtownies.

At first I thought about picking some of the most hard-to-makeover controllable sims you guys mentioned on the last discussion, but we'll vary a bit to focus on some townies this time, and what better than downtowies (*see ETA note at the end). Imo, some are kind of

This sounds awesome! I have a soft spot for these townies.

Maxis did give them names in the Downtown template, but the subhood feature randomizes all townie names. (if you add on a subhood version of Pleasantview for instance, Goopy and Kaylynn will have mixed up names too)

It makes sense the files would have so kind of name to start with, but if they will change inevitably in everyone's games anyways, there's no point on try to use them for the challenge (or even in general). It may only complicate things even more, imo.

But, thanks for that info! It's still very interesting. I'll add to the post if anyone is curious (I'm so unfamiliar with Townies I didn't know any of this).

They don't have random names, they are always the same. The names varies from language to language but they are always the same.

Maybe it depends if whatever you play a downloaded uberhood or not, but those are certainly not the same names in my game, and for what others comment here I'm not the only one with randomly generated names. In any case, I don't see how their names may interfere with a makeover challenge in this case.

But thanks for the link. Seems to be the same that skellington posted out before with the template names. I must add it to the post in case any one is interested.

No, they are not always the same. Downtownie names get randomized when you add a downtown. The names listed on the wiki are the names they have in the Downtown template, but they lose those when you add the downtown to a neighbourhood.
