My daughter Annette's co-worker just found out that a loved one is terminal. Annette was moved to write something for him which I'd like to share with you all. It's pretty long so I'm putting it under the cut.

That is one of the most down-to-earth, moving, sincere pieces of writing that I have read in a long time. I have to say that you have reared a very astute daughter. I'm sorry for the news of this latest source of sadness.

Thank you so much! I think my daughter is wonderful but it's nice to know other people agree!

My husband died on November 14, 2007, only a little more than four months ago, so this is pretty much our only source of sadness now, and it's a great grief for both of us, and for my six year old granddaughter, too. I've been lucky to have found LiveJournal and the many friends I've come to know here, to help me in my struggles to get on without my husband. Annette is working, and she has friends there, plus lots of other friends, who try to give her support. But as you can see, it's very hard for her. She's very emotional and I try to encourage her to let herself feel those emotions. She was extremely close and attached to her dad. It's hard for her.

At any rate, I'm grateful for your comments. I'm taking the liberty to pass what you said along to her. I think it will make her happy to learn what you think of her message to her friend.
