Well, the mouse was shot separately from the cheese/binder clip. It is only in post-processing that they were put together. It would have been impossible to shoot them at the same time in the same frame because Stuart was running around too much. I took over 200 shots to get just these three of him that were usable.
The binder clip was more difficult to shoot than the mouse. First of all, I needed to put a piece of cheese in it, but the clip does not stay open on its own if you know. So, I bound the handles of the clip with wire in order to keep it open, and then removed the wire from the image in post-processing.
Another fact about this is that the cheese is, although real, it was sculpted to look this way. I added holes in it with a pen to look like Swiss. But in fact, the cheese is Norwegian. :)
That's why I say that Stuart was an amazing model. We just let him run around and clicked the shutter, trying to get him in frame and in focus. While the binder clip and cheese took some craftsmanship.
