Possible side gig and bitch post.

First thing first. I think I might have found a side gig but I'm struggling. It's through a company/website called transcribeme. Basically, you transcribe short audio files instead of large ones and get paid $15 an audio file. I now that is not much but it is work from home and whenever I want. The last side gig I had was Ubereats and my husband ( Read more... )

I suppose if you don't pass the transcription test, you won't have lost anything, so you might as well go for it. Who knows how easy or difficult it will be until you try it? As a freelance job, it seems like a pretty good idea. It hadn't occurred to me that there would be such a thing.

As for the husband issue, I'd probably be raging too. If there's nothing you can directly do about it, I think you should bear the situation in mind and calmly plot your revenge. Next time he needs your help on something, you can happily and resolutely be 'busy' attending to some particularly pointless task. I don't know: teaching your pet to speak Swahili or writing to the government about chemtrails or something!

I started the test, which is easier then I thought it was going to be. Still have 2 other audio clips to listen to and transcribe before I am done. It seems to be interesting work.

Funny, as soon as I told him that I was going to take this test he said that he was getting ready to study but as I sit in the library I could still hear him play video game. I eventually had to put headphones in so I don't know if he ever turned it off or not.

Tomorrow I will be at the gym pretty much all day, challenging myself to walk 15+ miles and then come home and probably pass out. So I think tomorrow will be my revenge day.

This is not to say that I am not proud of him because I know that he works very hard and this test is freaking him out. I just wished that the past few day had been more productive.

That's excellent news about the transcription test. I hope things continue in the same way, and this proves to be a help to you in clearing your debts. Well done and good luck!

I would say a fifteen-mile walk is quite a tough challenge. At least, it would be for me. The furthest I've walked in a single day recently has been about seven or eight miles, and by the end of it I was so tired and sore that I had to stop and make my way home by bus. I am excessively chunky about the belly mind you, and that undoubtedly doesn't help. Do you do the gym stuff regularly?

Not really. I started the exercise routine on June 1st. I walked the 8 miles before I had to stop so now i know my breaking point. Working my way up to 15 miles now

I'm doing that as well as a side gig, though with a different site. I hated the testing part as well and it took me ages to get into the right frame of mind to actually do it. Now I'm still being assessed on each job I complete, but I'm trying to push through it, because the extra money will hopefully be worth it.

Oh that is awesome. How do you like the work itself?
