I now have greencard (I-551) status! :-) Back-dated to yesterday. Temporary stamp indicating GC status valid for 1 year, but will only be necessary until I get the physical card in the mail, which should be a fraction of that time! :) Yay! This means I can now work in GC status, rather than H1-B status, and I can travel (and return) at will. Woot ( Read more... )

I've never had a strong accent, so even years ago you might not have noticed anything, or might have misidentified the accent. Now it's even milder and, I finally have to admit, has started to include a bit of Californian accent.

Um, random flamboyant browncoats ... uh .... ur ... well, hopefully with your permission!

I must confess, my LJ username to real person mapping is failing me and I am not totally sure who you are. I assume I would have met you at B3 or some SoCal gathering? ... or do you make it to SiliconGulch/SF meet-ups (noticing the Fremont, CA in your profile)?
