the times we're inzumaAugust 18 2009, 12:43:33 UTC
i'm slow on the uptake culturally these days and always play catch up, like recently learning (for example) Fantagraphics no longer publishes "pamphlet" comics (regular old comic books to me) in lieu of graphic books like Beto's most recent 'Speak Of The Devil', and so on. i mention this as context to my dawning realization graphic novels really are slowly replacing regular (what some jokingly call 'handicapped') novels. in short, it's one hell of a great time for illustrators. i already perceived there were more illustrators than ever before it seems and felt lost in a huge crowd, but i put it into a new perspective now. just sayin'.
...and *with* that said, i feel for ya in terms of the inconvenience as you put it. i say all the above hoping to encourage (in terms of the ever expanding opportunities at the very least).

It is an interesting time, I think its a golden age and the volume of work being produced right now is staggering. As far as the crowd, it is interesting how when everything seems about the same it does seem like a crowd, when something interesting happens, then it stands out.
Thanks for the encouragement, as far as that URL... you are right, amazing stuff. WOW.

As for your departure from McFarlane, Inc., think of it as a door opening to a horizon of possibilities. :)
