incredible. how big was your original scan of this, large? i hope so, there should be a large archive version.
there is so much to this i dearly appreciate; the mech dog, the small moon, the great background with the spot-on perspective to it, even the gradient in the sky (which being at top was the first part i saw), and of course that great figure. the shadows of the gorge too are spot-on. i love the foreground and the path the mech dog took or made.
The piece is 30cm by 40cm and so scanning it means a session of Photoshop too. This was photographed by a friend of mine. That gradient sky, which I may add to the piece, isn't actually part of the original, it came from the lighting for the photography. This is 500 pixels wide, optimized, the digital photographs are at just over 2000 pixels wide. I plan to scan it and put it back together at something like 5000 pixels wide.
Thanks... that small moon is actually the sun, as seen from Mars. Actually it's probably a tad bigger than it should be. It was my light source. If I had been thinking, I would have rendered a sky with that gradient and just left that circle white, then it would be clearer as the sun.
I was depressed when I was uploading it... there are moments here that aren't so lovely. Drawing has been a much needed escape.
