Gobble Gobble!

So tomorrow I head back home for Thanksgiving. Oh, how I do -not- miss Texas, so going back is bittersweet. Although seeing the parental units is something to look forward to. Or should I say my mami's cooking? Heh. In any case, the semi lack of internet is going to be trying. I'm kinda sorta semi addicted to it. Hopefully my iPhone doesn't take a ( Read more... )

Oy! Crap I tell you. That's crap.

I both love and hate the holidays for this very reason. I told my mother I'm done running around and having Thanksgiving at all the houses I need to attend. And that I'm cooking at my house and she's welcome to come. I did that last year and it was just my husband and I there. This year she called me and said 'I'M COMING!' It was sort of cute. I'll be glad to have her, my step-dad, whom I adore and pretend like he's my real pops, goes away for three weeks over Thanksgiving so she's alone. My brother's making the three hour drive to Miami so my mom's bringing over my grandfather and we're going to score some grub at my place.

But really the holidays seem to be more stressful than fun anymore. I do hope you have some semblance of fun while you're there. Seeing the fam will be nice I hope (and home made food is always a bonus too!).

If you don't mind me asking did you just leave Texas to get out or did you leave for like school or something? ^_^

Heh, a bit of both? I went to school here, but I didn't very much like Texas at all. So I guess you could say I found a school that would allow me to leave home. Plus, NYC is nice.

Gosh yeah it is - we honeymooned in NYC. December. Two Florida kids in the frigid north for two weeks. It was...an adventure. I'd been before though so I knew what to expect. He didn't even bring gloves. HA! We don't own that sort of stuff her. I don't even own a coat. An adventure. But I can appreciate what you say - NCY is nice. Fun for sure.

I hope your phone works in TX, to give you some reprieve. I too am an internet addict. I couldn't do it. You're braver than I.

I know, when I first moved here it was winter. I had no coat, I mean, Texas is like summer all year round, so I was fucking freezing.
I've no choice! I don't want to miss out on updates, though. So I hope my iPhone cooperates, since Lola won't be of much help. Heh, Lola being my computer... >_>

You won't get to experience this I suppose since you will be in Texas. :D But I love being inside, on Thanksgiving or Christmas, and the entire house is warm and cozy because of food and snow is falling down outside. Its the only times of the year that I enjoy the snow--the rest of the time, its a pain in my ass. :D But I love being warm when outside is so frigid and white.

That being said!! That had nothing to do with your blog. :D It was actually kind of selfish that I yapped on about it. :P I hope you have fun even if you don't like Texas--I hope the food and seeing your parents is worth it. :D

I don't think I could do three weeks sans internet--is that bad? I'm pretty sure it is. ^_^ But whatever. I hope you have fun though and you'll have to tell us all about it when you get back!!

I'm glad you aren't sick anymore too--since that would suck to be sick on Thanksgiving.

Yeah, Texas isn't known for it's cold snowy weather. =( It's totally fine if you yap... It allows me to get to know more about you, ne? I'm sure I'll enjoy it, most days. It's going to be tough not having easy access to it, I'm counting on my iPhone, though who knows if it will work for me the whole time I'm there. Yeah, Thanksgiving sick would suck, it's good I probably don't have to worry about that.
