I was safely in my car for the wild boar (I do have a friend who go knocked down by a warthog. She definitely panicked). And the turkeys start edging away when you get within a few meters (especially if you've told one of the Chinese grad students to go ahead and try to catch their Thanksgiving dinner).

The deer around work are pretty bold. They seem to know there's no hunting allowed at the core of the site, so they leave the surrounding forest and come hang out for most of hunting season (yes, I live in a place with hunting seasons). They'll calmly stand on a grassy median nibbling grass while cars go by on either side. Unfortunately, they do get hit a lot. Every year around now they put up "Deer Strike" signs marking all the accidents from the past couple years. There are way more than I would have expected.
