Oops, I did it again

Trouble is, I still don't know just what it is that I did do!

Back in January, I suffered through a really nasty four-day-long allergy attack (although I didn't know at first that that is what it was). I don't know what caused it last time, and I don't know what's causing it this time, either!

sounds painful! I hope you feel better very very soon.

Does bathing in cool water with baking soda help at all? Oatmeal soak? Anything?

I was just thinking of that.

I was going to try warm or hot water, though.... (I absolutely detest cool baths....) But yeah, the baking soda thing has definitely been on my mind tonight. :/

Tea tree oil also helps with the itchies. I would put a few drops on a cotton pad and wipe it over Caitybug's skin. No need to mix with anything as Tea Tree is one of the few essential oils that can be used neat. This helped quite a bit.

Oh hey, I never thought of that. I use tea tree oil as an antiseptic, but I didn't know it worked on itchiness.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

Yikes, I hope you're feeling better soon. Did you get a cat scratch by any chance? I've had bad reactions when one of my cats has scratched me. I've never actually been tested for cat allergies, even though I've had them for ten years.

Band-Aid brand "Anti Itch Gel" has worked well for the past 24 hours for me on a foot that was cat-swiped while I was in bed yesterday morning.

It wasn't a cat scratch... I do have a mild cat allergy still, left over from my kiddie days, but that will react on the scratch itself and happens pretty quickly. When that happens I just use hydrogen peroxide to clean the scratch and then Benadryl cream on it to knoock out the itch; the combination usually deals with a cat scratch pretty quickly.

This is more diffuse... starts as a small patch of mild itchiness, and over the course of the next few days gradually spreads in size and intensity until suddenly it is too itchy to bear and covers the whole limb/s in question. It seems like a constant-contact allergy, but I haven't changed any foods, or detergents, or places-I-walk-through, that I can think of.... Very annoying.

But like last time, the prednisone is clearing it up. It's almost totally gone, now, thank heavens.
