Apparently, according to Wikipedia, that was the beginning of the relationship between Mancini and Edwards.

You don't find too many TV shows where the music makes the show. For example, I think that Cowboy Bebop wouldn't be as iconic without Yoko Kanno's contribution (another show that used jazz to great effect.)
