I am totally fascinated by Marina Abramović's The Artist Is Present at MoMA. It's a performance art piece in which Abramović sits at a table in the middle of a gallery. i love that you wrote about this. and i love the idea of it, because my favorite thing to do already in art museums is stare at things until i cry. i mean i don't always set out to do that, but knowing that sense of calm and connection will come over me is a big part of why i love to see art. so i can totally, completely relate to this woman's viewers.

I can relate to them, too. I had to kind of immerse myself in the idea before I really got it, but then I got it in a rush. And connection, yeah--I mean, what else is art about? Provocation, beauty, and connection.
