The weather/climate/whatever change had fucked with me again and I'm feeling crampy/achey/snotty. However, I do not appear to have that Rice Crispies noise in my lungs when I breathe (yet) so it could be worse. And my leg is feeling a bit better as well. the random gears thing makes me roll my eyes at this point. You know, when they're just there for the sake of being there and not integrated into the design as whole, it's a turn off. Does that make any sense?

Perfectly. In the best-case scenario, it's the work of someone who may appreciate steampunk, or think they do, but appreciates it only on the shallowest of levels, only perceiving the surface of things (in terms of the six stages of creators that Scott McCloud presented in Understanding Comics, this person is at stage 6, just barely having started and possibly not going to progress further.) In a worse-case scenario, of course, it's cynical exploitation of the aesthetic by those who know that they're trying to pass off garbage, and don't care.
