All right, ladies and gents. Those of you in the know, please recommend me some decent reading. I'm looking for the following genres, even better if it's mixed: Westerns (stop laughing.), Victorian/Edwardian, and Alternate History/Steampunk. China Mieville - The Scar (Alternate world, but very Victorian/Edwardian in tone)

Charles Williams - Many Dimensions (Published in 1931, and I think you'll dig it)

Glen David Gould - Carter Beats The Devil (Fictionalize biography of turn of the century illusionist Carter, and a cracking read)

Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norell (alternate Napoleonic War-era england, with magic)

I've heard good things about Mieville. At some point I'll have to pick him up.
