It's kind of funny, Matt. You and I like tons of the same things, and even though we can't quite agree on everything about Buffy or the DCAU, I feel the exact same way about the Scully and Jean eras that you do ( ... )

The Principal and the Pauper : The ending was a cop-out on purpose. It was a PARODY of cop-out endings and not actually a badly written one.

Miracle on Evergreen Terrace : It gets hate because it's a Scully episode. Logic never goes into fans' reviews of newer episodes.

The Joy of Sect : I haven't seen the commentary yet. I'll let you know but my guess is no.

This Little Wiggy : Huckleberries. ALWAYS with the huckleberries. :D

Then if Principal and the Pauper was an intentional parody, I don't know why people wouldn't like it, it made me laugh (although it's not good when they rely on it in future episodes, like when Snowball II was killed and replaced).

I thought it was huckleberries. The reason I asked was because I recently saw Breakfast At Tiffany's, and it made me remember Nelson listening to Andy Williams' "Moon River" as well as Nelson being cast in the role of Huckleberry Finn in another episode, so...I guess Nelson's got a running gag about huckleberries, huh?

Well, the ENDING was a self-parody about how The Simpsons resets everything at the end of the episode and nothing ever really changes on the show. They used the biggest cop-out possible as a joke at the show's expense. Simpsons fans were actually silly enough to take the ending seriously when it actually was a self-deprecating knock at the show itself.

I love how Nelson loves Andy Williams and picks huckleberries. It's hilarious and makes his character so well rounded.

I really haven't been able to watch simpsons as a long time. I sort of lost my taste for it 10 years ago, then four years ago I discovered that there's a large contingent of people who think it's the best show every, which sort of angered me ( ... )

"Lisa's Wedding" is a classic episode from Season Six which also has a LOT of classic episodes.

If The Simpsons had stopped after season eight it would have easily gone down as the best television show ever. As it stands the later seasons really diminish the earlier ones and detract from the entire series as a whole.
