Well I'm not going to vent about politics this time despite many opportunities since last post to do so. Instead I am going to make a simple post about how life is going. This is a blog after all

Thank you sir, I am sticking in there as much as I can. While my position will still always be a difficult one, this president and Congress sure aren't helping. While this post wasn't so much meant to "woe is me" it felt good to get it out. In blog form it actually helps because I can come back to this post at some point in the future and use it as a milestone in life to see how far I have come as a business owner, man, human, or any other way I could possibly break myself down

The gay marriage thing? Three things. Government shouldn't be in the marriage recognition business in the first place. If it IS, then gays should get the same treatment, sure, but THAT decision is a legislative one (And I'd support it when done thusly), not one for the courts. The Equal Protection Clause was meant for the newly-freed slaves; no one in 1870 intended it to mean gay marriage. Ridiculous. Another move to rule by judicial fiat.
Aimee probably feels surrounded, yeah, but at least her work itself isn't political. Me, I'm in the Ninth Circuit, so I have to follow their precedents, like it or not.
FF14, I hope to play it, but I'm worried it may require a whole new computer. I tried the beta, but it wouldn't boot, apparently due to age of computer. So we'll see.
We should be there at COmic Con. Or at least Aimee was saying so! I can't really go if she doesn't; I get a spouse badge ONLY if she's an exhibitor. Hope to see you there if you come!
Actually you provided good insight into that issue, though I was referring to the nomination of Elena Kagel (sp?) to the Supreme Court. All the same that is certainly a contentious hot-button issue, too, that will also open up the doors to bigamy and such and it just creates a situation where the government is in your bedroom even more. So I agree about governmental influence in the process/recognition of marriage. As for FF14 I also need to upgrade my computer to play but it is something worth investing in. That way I'll be able to play SC2 or Bioshock 2 even better and be ready for other next-gen games (though truth be told I don't actually have a large collection).
No one ever said doing what you love was easy. If you love running the shop, then I'd say you're well on the right track in life. Most people would kill to have that ambition, or having a job doing something they truly enjoy.
BTW, I came by the shop a week ago but you weren't in. I'm thinking of stopping up on thursday if you're around.
