This is the story about Artesia Popidopolis, a Greek Muse who comes down from Olympus to own the screenwriting that people have been taking credit for all of her life. Unfortunately she falls for the worst of the hack rewrites who she hates and ultimately realizes that her place in the universe is to provide inspiration rather than own recognition.
It's a pitch that's recieved really great reactions, now I just need to structure it. For example, one major issue I realized as I was writing the last few scenes in the outline, I need to get her to realize she's meant to inspire and not claim credit and be happy with that, but also to keep her empowered and not make it seem like I'm saying women are happiest when they're supporting their man do his stuff.
Can she also be shown gaining intrinsic rewards from supporting other people besides the hack? The idea would be that she's not just standing by her man, she's empowered through the act of empowering others--perhaps in a delightful and softly lit montage with a new John Mayer song written especially for the movie playing in the background.
I'm not trying to tell you how to do your work. I'm just trying to get John Mayer into our group. We're running out of happy hour Mystery Guests.
