The fact that it looks like it is going to pass really saddens Tiffany and I as well. All those people who preach love and kindness, who end up being full of hate and intolerance.

I also find it sick how deceitful and untruthful the Yes on 8 campaign was. I guess it's alright for Christians to lie, mislead, and falsify facts when it is in their best interest.

All I can hope is that the future will bring better things and at some point this piece of hateful legislation will be undone.

Bittersweet indeed. I'm proud that our country has come so far in terms of tolerance, but we still have a long way to go.

Stay hopeful though - I think your "when" is going to be soon. There's already a legal challenge being raised against Prop 8. And even if that doesn't work out, young voters are in favor of marriage equality by huge margins. The worst case scenario is that within a decade at most, enough old prejudiced coots will die off and enough new, more accepting voters will be added to the pool that laws like this will be overturned. There will always be bigots, but their ranks are shrinking. They're becoming a smaller and smaller minority.
