If Christy ever saw the video on this page, she might not ever let Aiden play baseball again.

Not pretty.

Unfortunately, it's kind of like a train wreck and you can't help but watch it. Fortunately, it only resulted in a broken nose. I know - "only" a broken nose wouldn't normally be something you'd be relieved about. But the damage could have ( Read more... )

when my sister was a junior in hs, she was playing softball. they were practicing one day before school or right after first period or something early... my mom was a teacher there... my sister ended up taking a ball to the face and got knocked out. by the time the "gossip" got to my mom accross campus, my sister had "died". turns out she ended up getting hit in the eye and it bruised the socket and her nose... but alas, she's alive and still loves fast pitch today!

I had a friend get hit right in the eyeball with a ball that was hit right back at him. Fortunately for him, we had a habit of using tennis balls (we were tired of getting in trouble for breaking windows). The doctor told him that if it were a real baseball, he would have gone blind in that eye. Scary stuff. He still played after that, too.

Wow - going from getting knocked out from a softball to "dying" sounds like the Telephone game gone horribly wrong!
