The top picture is of Karl (left) - aka "Special K" - coaching a Camper up the rest of the pole. This was one technique we'd use if we thought a Camper needed a little encouragement. We'd just throw the equipment on our feet and climb up there real quick. Once face-to-face with the Camper, we'd say, "See? It's not that hard."
The bottom picture is my brother at the top of his first spar pole. He was 14 or 15 at the time. As you can see by his body language and facial expression, he wasn't too happy.
That's especially painful since you asked for an inspirational one...
