I just hate watching my friends lose what will probably soon turn into $1,000 as I kick back with a free bottle of water. Which I think is just tap water by the way.
I look at the casino industry much like the drug industry and the fast food industry. No matter what people will let themselves be exploited - so you can't just prohibit them. So I kind of like the crown ownership concept.
Logic will never fail you. Your intuitions, emotions, or anything in between almost definitely will.

I also think that it is really unfortunate that the city agreed to accept such a low proportion of the revenue from the casino in exchange for allowing its operation. It seems like it would have made more sense to get far more revenue from the casino. Surely the capital costs could still have been paid off with more money still going to the city.

In local politics, I'm simply seeking some leadership from people smarter than I am. I don't want to look at their decisions and constantly think about how I would have made better ones - even at 17 and with no political science or sociology background it didn't take a genius to figure out that the casino was a failed idea before it was set in motion.
Sad. All of this.
And by sad I mean pathetic.
However, I would rather have exploitation devices like casinos and drugs regulated by the government in some manner.
But are Canadian casinos a government run body?
