Maintaining Contact
A few months ago, a former Penguicon Board member phoned me, who I had not spoken to in about four years. It turned out we were thinking about a lot of the same issues lately, and some of those issues included how to keep in touch with people, and who to keep in touch with.

* I don't run a lot of events that require other volunteers, beyond LN2 (we dig through emails to pull up names again and check in with people a month or so ahead of time, when we have our act together; I should update the list I keep on Google Docs). Consuite staff has always pulled through on ingredients and room prep. For the actual LN2 portion, I haven't run anything so big that if everyone else falls off, I can't muscle through it myself with commandeering the help (stirring, bowl cleaning) of folks who show up for ice cream (with some degradation in turnaround for batches).
* Friends: I maintain connections through a bunch of fragmented social media. This is not really optimal, but it's what I do.
* For my local parties, I have a "parties" group in Google Contacts, and just send out an email to them when I'm throwing a party.
