I think it just means someone that YOU think has horrific taste in music.

Yeah, it probably does, but there's a chance that it doesn't.

If it said "someone whose taste in music is completely different from yours", that wouldn't be as ambiguous as "horrific taste in music".

Maybe, but since everyone's opinion of horrific music is different, I think it just means music that you don't like.
