Will the pandemic ever ACTUALLY end? Like, these days about 80% of the time it feels like things are improving enough that the pandemic will actually end, maybe even this year. But this is part of the other 20%. Because I STILL see people who think the pandemic will never actually end, which leads to me worrying that they could be right.

And will my ( Read more... )

I don't know about your area, but BC has a cautious restart plan with dates. The restrictions are set to be lifted somewhat on July 15th, for example. Some people thought they should have been lifted on Monday. Uh no, why do you want to party so badly? Our cases have definitely been going down while vaccinations are going up. It won't be forever.

Some people thought they should have been lifted on Monday. Uh no, why do you want to party so badly? The same reason everyone wants to go out or travel or wants the policies to end sooner rather than later: because all the restrictions are frustrating and for a long time it DID seem like they would last forever. Even if there are things people can do at home as an alternative to going out, it's just not the same. In most of April-June 2020, I was pretty much unable to enjoy ANYTHING I used to enjoy because it felt like all the restrictions would last forever and that EVERYONE would hate me for wanting them to end soon, even if just for a day or so, just so I could at least have some reassurance that it wouldn't be forever ( ... )

This particular guy DID want to party. I wasn't directing the phrase at you. Restrictions are starting to lift, so perhaps people will have better mental health. I judge anti-maskers and antivax people.

I judge anti-maskers and antivax people.

I hope you don't include me in either of those categories even though I USED to have certain beliefs about vaccines (because that was before I had heard differently) and I don't LIKE masks.

The biggest contributor to my mental health issues is that there are a lot of people who hate me just for those things.

I do hope people will have better mental health soon, but I doubt I ever will since I still have PTSD from all the times people got mad at me and hated me over my feelings about the pandemic.
