facebook goes down all the time. Websites go down all the time. The internet is not breaking. Ive literally just been looking at my fb feed! lol calm down matt, the world is not ending.
Oh I know Facebook is back up now. But when I heard it had went down this morning, for long enough for the fact it was down to be trending on Google, I panicked until I asked if it was back up now.
Even if Facebook goes down all the time, this is the first time I remember hearing about it going down. It's not the first time I've panicked over a big-name website on par with Facebook going down, because I knew about the time last year (I think) when YouTube went down for a while - but none of these instances are exactly comforting. I'm always scared that these will happen again or that something worse might happen in the future. I'm a little calmer now that I've posted this entry and comment, but still.
(Also, I didn't mean to imply that I can't enjoy Thanksgiving break at all because of it. I have been able to enjoyed it. It's nice having a break from work, and I enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner [or lunch in my case] with relatives. But at the same time, I'm just sometimes a little on edge about websites going down.)
but thats happened before. When it had crashed for a couple of days yeeeears ago. It doesnt mean anything terrible though. These sites have back ups for stuff, so nothing gets lost.
also it might help your anxiety by asking yourself, will worrying change anything? Is there anything i can do to change what might happen? Is there answers are no, you need to learn how to let it go. Honestly have a google search for anxiety techniques.
It's not Facebook specifically that's had me worried so much lately. I've just been kind of on edge lately. Because as I've mentioned in some recent posts, one of my favorite webcomics is down (and has been for nearly two weeks, and may not be fixable at all seeing as the creator has already tried and failed to track down the bug). And there's some new law I don't know a lot - including when it goes into effect or even if it already has - about except that many YouTubers I watch are worried about what it'll do to their channels (which, since several YouTube channels I like have already went down, is a good reason to be worried in my opinion). This Facebook thing (at least until I found out it's back up now) just felt like the latest in all of that.
Is there anything i can do to change what might happen?Yes. I figured if the YouTube thing is going to be as bad as people say it is, I should call attention to it by posting about it before it's too late. (Or if it turns out it wouldn't have been as bad as I thought it was, it doesn't
( ... )
I know Facebook is back up now. But knowing that it was down for a long time at some point today stressed me out for a while because it reminded me of all the other times that websites have went down, in some cases indefinitely. :(
This was just the first time I'd heard of Facebook going down. And when Mom first told me about it, it sounded like it had been down for a long time and I didn't even know it was back up until I asked her.
And I'm still on edge from the other stuff, too. :(
It happens like once a week or more. It is nothing to worry about. I think you misunderstood because you were panicking. She is having trouble with her internet connection because of the new phone and she didn't set it up correctly.
Like you said, you are on edge. So you are overreacting to little stuff and making a big deal out of it. Stay off the internet for awhile.
